365 Pens

365 Pens will be a full color ebook and printed publication featuring over one hundred pen artist and 365 Pens. The concept behind 365 pens is to showcase a different pen each day by various artist. Along with high quality photographs, each pen will include details of construction, links to the source of the materials, commentary on any challenges overcame during the process, and the pen artist bio, including where to buy the pen if it’s available for purchase. We are excited to present this opportunity for pen turners to showcase their work in a national publication.

The audience for this book is fellow pen turners and potential pen collectors.

Who are we?

365 Pens will be published by Tree Branch Publishing, in cooperation with Pen Turning Network. The owner is Tim McGill. Tim is a pen turner in Central Iowa, USA and specializes in corn cob pens. He is also the owner of Iowacobb, provider of stabilized corn cob pen blanks. Tim can be contacted via email at contact@365pens.com

Release Date

Our goal for publication is June 1, 2014. This, of course, depends on a number of factors, mainly how long it takes to gather 365 pens that meet the requirements. We also will need some time to process the information, format the book, and complete the publishing process.

Contributor Requirements

The basic requirements are two items, a unique pen design and high quality photograph of it. The pen design does not need to be a one-of-a-kind, just a good example of material and pen pairing.

100% Free

There are no fees required to submit your pen to 365 Pens, even if selected for publication. It’s 100% free. You will likely have cost associated with making your pen and photography, however, these costs are solely your responsibility.
